Our move to Southern Hills meant we
would need to provide our own housing.
We were greatly blessed because we were able to make the move from
temporary tenants to home owners.
We found a house that Ann called
her dream house. When she walked in the
door she said, “Lord, if you didn’t want me to have this house, then why did
you bring me here?” That became our home
for the next eleven years.
We really got a very good deal on
the house. The house was in “succession,”
which means that the previous owner had died.
It had been on the market for some time, so the heirs had reduced the
price. The biggest drawback was the fact
that it had something of a seventies look, but we really didn’t mind that. The unique feature was a breakfast
room. Ann enjoyed going in there each
morning with her Bible study materials and spending quiet time with God.
We left it reluctantly at the end
of our time in Shreveport, but we were deeply grateful for the eleven years we
spent there.
